As a business owner or busy executive, time is a precious commodity. So to help you stay on top of your game it’s important to have your short term goals defined to keep you focused and on track.

The more you can consistently focus on the actions and strategies you need to take, the more quickly you will reach your vision and your goals. Energy is key – you must gain and maintain momentum. Your actions must be immediate and aligned with your core values and passions.

Below are some questions to answer and post in a visible place where you can review them daily or weekly.

Use your ideal day activity to identify a 1-year vision.

30-Day Vision and Action Plan (50%)
Write your 30-day vision and the actions you will take this month to accomplish that vision.

7-Day Action Plan (30%)
Write the actions you will take in the next 7 days to accomplish your 30-day vision.

1-Day Action Plan (20%)
Identify which of your 7-day actions you will take tomorrow to get the momentum going.

Accountability

What structures will you put in place to hold yourself accountable for taking these actions?

What are you willing to trade in order to implement new habits of aligned action?

Clarity = Focus = Action

Once you achieve more clarity around what you need to do and by when, the easier it will be to focus on the daily tasks required to generate the necessary momentum and actions to to reach your goals.

What is your vision and mission for your company? What impact do you want to have on your community and the world? How do you want to achieve your vision? The more you can refine your vision, the easier it will be to set your goals and objectives along the way.

Create Your Plan

Marketing Tips Part 3 – Spreading the Word is Key

Tip #7 :: Spreading the Word
Spreading the word of your business through the referrals from clients is a tried and true way to growth. Better known as Word Of Mouth marketing (WOM), you get to design this strategy into your relationship with clients up front by sharing with them, “If you’re satisfied with the work we do together, would you be willing to refer my services to your friends or colleagues?” If they agree, then your job is to provide extraordinary service to your clients and let them do some of your marketing for you!

You can plant the seed in their thinking by asking, “Do you know of someone who could benefit from my services? If so, who?”

When you set the tone up front for excellent service and ask for referrals in return, your clients will be more willing to give you those referrals with little or no prodding.
Most importantly, be sure to follow-up on their referrals with an invitation to sample what you have to offer. And, if that referral becomes a client, BE SURE to send your client a big THANK YOU for the gift they have given you.

In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. It wasn’t until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.

A Powerful Marketing Mix – Email Marketing & Social Media

How are your marketing strategies working together? Or perhaps the better question is – what marketing strategies are you using in conjunction with each other? I always recommend that my clients select two to three different strategies to utilize in concert with each other over a period of 6-12 months and then measuring which one is giving you the most return for your time and money.

One strategy that I strongly believe in is Email Marketing – when it’s done well, it’s a terrific way to keep your company’s brand front of mind. And, it’s an effective tool that compliments your social marketing strategies as well.

While some may think that email marketing is not effective since we’re inundated with emails these days, Brian Solis,Principal of FutureWorks suggests that, “Email is technically the largest, untapped social network in the world”. And I would have to agree.
